At 6 foot 4 inches and 265 pounds, Daunte Culpepper is the largest quarterback in NFL history; but he didn't start out that way.

In 2003 Daunte signed a 10-year $102 million contract with the Minnesota Vikings, the highest paying contract in that team's history and one of the highest in NFL history; but he didn't start out that way.

Daunte was born in prison to a teenage mother who was serving time for armed robbery. But even in those dire circumstances, his young mom loved him enough to give him life and to place him in the loving care of Emma Culpepper.

As to his success in life, Daunte says of his adopted mom:

I have to give a lot of credit to my mom, Emma Culpepper, who adopted me. I am a direct reflection of her. She did the best she could raising me, with pretty much nothing. She was already just living off Social Security. The day she adopted me she was 62.

She's a very, very special lady. Remarkable. Strong. Everything you'd want in a mother - in a parent. I just wish she could have been the difference in even more kids' lives. Her love was just always there. I can never repay her for what she's done for me. There's no dollar amount that I could ever give her that would amount to half of what she's done. She gave me those things that money can't buy. But I can try. I'm going to take care of her the best way I can.

Today Daunte also has a relationship with his biological mom and feels so strongly about the benefits of adoption that he is the celebrity spokesman for the African American Adoption Agency in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Faith Hill's biological parents were young and unmarried when they placed her with Ted and Edna Perry, her adoptive parents, when she was only a few days old. Faith has always known that she was adopted and says:

Having been adopted, I really have a strong sense - a necessity almost - for stability - a foundation where my family is concerned. Success would be meaningless without anyone to share it with.

Faith began singing in public when she was only seven years old and had her first band when she was sixteen. When she became interested in where her passion for music came from, she searched out her biological parents. Her birth parents had later married and had a son together. At their first meeting, as her birthmother came walking toward her, she said she recognized her own walk. Although her birthfather died in an accident, Faith continues to have a good relationship with her birth mother and brother.
